Editorial Commentary on Letter to Editor “Fat-Anchoring Orchidopexy: Some Concerns” and an Addendum to J Pediatr Surg 2021; 56: 632-634.

We thank our readers Aneesh M & Raveenthiran V for their Letter to the Editor (1) raising concerns about a recent Journal of Pediatric Surgery (JPS) paper by Al-Omar K, et al (2). Their concerns centered on the anatomy of the ‘fat pad’, a recent similar publication in Pediatric Surgery International (PSI) (3), and institutional ethical approval. We sought response from Drs. Al-Omar and Spinelli, respectively, and while clarifications of the technique and institutional practice were provided, we did not get a satisfactory response on the issue of redundant publication.
