Unselected CD117 Expression in Amniotic and Placental Mesenchymal Stem Cells

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have been extensively studied for over half a century. Their plasticity, self-renewal, and multilineage potential have generated unremitting interest in their use in regenerative therapy strategies. Fetal MSCs isolated from the amniotic fluid and placenta have been favored for perinatal applications largely because amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling are minimally invasive and acceptably safe procedures.
