Letter to ‘Clinical diagnostic predictive score for Meckel diverticulum’

We read with much interest the article ‘Clinical diagnostic predictive score for Meckel diverticulum’.[1] From the title of this study, it is perceived that the authors were trying to devise a clinical predictive score for diagnosis of Meckel's diverticulum (MD). On the contrary, the authors chose to select the patient population who were referred to them for the complaints of lower gastrointestinal bleed, and later had the surgico-pathological diagnosis of Meckel's diverticulum. Ideally the title should have alluded to the fact that the study is providing a predictive score for Meckel's diverticulum among patients with lower gastrointestinal bleeding.
