Exploring the power of virtual reality in reducing pain and stress in pediatric surgery

We would like to commend the authors of the study “Effects of virtual reality distraction on pain, stress, and heart rate during pediatric ingrown toenail surgery: A randomized controlled trial” for their significant contribution to the growing body of research on non-pharmacological interventions for pediatric pain management [1]. This study provides valuable insights into the efficacy of immersive Virtual Reality (VR) as a distraction technique in pediatric surgery, with particular focus on pain, stress, and physiological responses (heart rate).
