We read with great interest the article by Alison et al., about “Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) Findings in Pediatric Patients with Choledocholithiasis Justify a Surgery-First Approach A Multi-Center Study.” We believe this is a highly valuable study. This multicenter retrospective research provides important insights into the treatment strategies for pediatric choledocholithiasis. By analyzing data from 127 children who underwent ERCP, the authors found that 69% of the cases may be more suitable for a surgery-first approach.
