Invited Commentary for: Screening Practices for Müllerian Anomalies in Patients With Known Renal or Urologic Anomalies: A Retrospective Chart Review

Mullerian anomalies affect 7 % of reproductive age women and account for a spectrum in their presentation. These anomalies may present in isolated fashion or in conjunction with other anomalies and other conditions such as disorders of sexual differentiation or anorectal malformations. Even among isolated mullerian anomalies (MA), it is known that these conditions present commonly with anomalies of the spine, urologic system, and/or congenital heart disease. To date no routine screening mechanism is in place to assess patients with known renal or urologic anomalies.
