Pancreatitis in Pediatric Patients with Pancreatic Solid Pseudopapillary Neoplasms: A Single Center Experience

Retrospective study of 10 female pediatric patients with solid pseudopapillary neoplasms found that 30% developed post-operative acute recurrent or chronic pancreatitis, all with pancreatic head lesions. Genetic testing revealed CFTR variants or anatomic abnormalities in all who developed pancreatitis, suggesting preoperative genetic and anatomic evaluation may predict outcomes.
