The research investigates differences in channel type selection, patient age at placement, and underlying diagnoses across institutions to identify patterns in clinical decision-making.
- ACE channels effectively manage defecation disorders and improve patient quality of life.
- Best practice for ACE channel placement remains unclear, leading to variation in clinical approach.
- Practice variation exists in initial channel type selection, timing of placement, and patient diagnoses.
- Study aims to characterize current practice patterns and patient demographics for ACE procedures.
- Understanding variation may inform standardization efforts and optimize patient selection criteria.
