We have read the article “The Management of Pilonidal Disease: a Systematic Review” with great interest. Grabowski et al. made a valuable contribution to the field by summing up 97 articles related to the treatment of pilonidal disease [1]. Moreover, they commented on phenol as an effective method in the management of pilonidal disease with low recurrence and complication rates with level 2–4 evidence, grade B recommendation. Grabowski et al. also suggested further studies to evaluate the applicability of phenol in the pediatric population [1].
