Thank you for this response. Surgeons across the world strive to better understand post-operative complications of one of the most commonly performed pediatric operations, inguinal hernia repair. Our recent Journal of Pediatric Surgery article describes the contemporary, population-level incidence of and risk factors for recurrent inguinal hernia. Beasley commented that his work, “Predictors of recurrence after inguinal herniotomy in boys,” previously published univariable predictors of 15 recurrences among 224 boys who underwent initial repair [1].
