In brief

This study from the Japanese CDH Study Group examines long-term outcomes in prenatally diagnosed left-sided isolated congenital diaphragmatic hernia cases. The research addresses a critical gap in counseling information for families by analyzing survivor data and overall prognosis when CDH is detected before birth.

  • Prenatal diagnosis enables outcome estimation for CDH, but survivor data for family counseling remains limited
  • Study focuses specifically on left-sided isolated CDH cases identified prenatally
  • JCDHSG database provides population-level data on CDH outcomes in Japan
  • Analysis aims to fill gap in practical clinical information for prenatal counseling
  • Isolated left CDH represents a distinct cohort for prognostic assessment
