In brief
In brief
Editorial reflection on the challenges faced by healthcare workers during 2020 and early 2021 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Acknowledges the extraordinary difficulties, suffering, and dangerous working conditions while recognizing the dedication of medical professionals worldwide.
Written by the GCMD Library team from the article.
2020 was a difficult year in so many respects. There was extraordinarily little, if anything, good about it. It was a year of suffering, death, difficult work conditions, and danger to health care workers, among many other things. We applaud you, our friends and readers, for everything you did to improve the health of those you treated under extremely challenging conditions. Some countries have seen an improvement in 2021 due to the availability of the Covid vaccines, but for many countries, optimism remains in short supply.
