Creating Educational Videos in Pediatric Surgery: Catering to Our Audience while Remaining Patient-Centric

Published: Reading: 1 min

Abstract

In today's digital age, pediatric surgeons, as content creators, must adapt to the digital preferences of patients, parents, and other medical consumers. For effective patient education in pediatric surgery, content must be concise, relevant, and easily understandable. Contemporary digital consumers typically engage with content that averages around 5 min in length [1]. Based on the platform, videos exceeding 15 s, or even 5 min, experience significant viewer drop-off, mirroring the TikTok model where fully viewed videos are prioritized [1].
