Updates From the Other Side of the Drape: Recent Advances in Multimodal Pain Management and Opioid Reduction Among Pediatric Surgical Patients

This article reviews contemporary multimodal pain management strategies and opioid-sparing techniques in pediatric surgery, drawing from a 2023 AAP symposium. It covers enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) pathways, alternative analgesic methods, and advocacy efforts that have improved perioperative outcomes while reducing opioid exposure in children.
