Pit excision with fibrin glue closure versus lateralizing flap procedures in the management of pilonidal sinus disease in adolescents: a 14-year cohort study

This 14-year cohort study of 78 adolescents demonstrates that pit excision with fibrin glue closure offers superior outcomes compared to traditional lateralizing flap procedures for pilonidal sinus disease, with significantly lower complication rates (3% vs 31% wound dehiscence), reduced operative time, and fewer reoperations (12% vs 49%).
