Pediatric kidney transplantation: is it safe to perform during night-time or day-off?

This retrospective study of 96 pediatric kidney transplants examines whether surgery timing (night-time, day-off, or regular hours) affects outcomes. While overall complication rates and graft function were similar across groups, day-off procedures showed longer operative times and increased post-operative bleeding risk, suggesting heightened vigilance may be warranted for weekend transplants.
