Causes of recurrence of paediatric inguinal hernia after single-port laparoscopic closure

This retrospective study of 3,480 pediatric inguinal hernia repairs identifies technical factors causing recurrence after single-port laparoscopic closure, with recurrence rates of 3.11% using single-hook vs 0.67% using double-hook technique. Primary causes include improper ligation tension, incomplete peritoneal capture, and loose knots, emphasizing the importance of tension-free complete ligation for surgical success.
