Outcomes of pediatric pilonidal disease treatment: excision with off-midline flap reconstruction versus endoscopic pilonidal sinus treatment

This retrospective study compares two surgical approaches for pediatric pilonidal disease: traditional excision with off-midline flap reconstruction versus minimally invasive endoscopic treatment (EPSiT). While excision/flap reconstruction showed lower recurrence and reoperation rates, it required longer operative times and had higher wound complication rates compared to EPSiT.
