Analysis of pediatric gunshot wounds in Houston, Texas: A social perspective

Retrospective analysis of 358 pediatric gunshot wound cases at a Level 1 trauma center (2001-2016) reveals that nearly half were accidental, 64% occurred in family residences, and adult supervision was present in only 26% of cases. Findings emphasize the preventable nature of these injuries through safe firearm storage and community education.
