Can we preserve the necrotic testis caused by incarcerated inguinal hernia in infants under 3 months?

Retrospective study of 42 infants under 3 months with testicular necrosis from incarcerated inguinal hernias suggests conservative management may be viable. Two of 18 followed patients avoided testicular atrophy with preservation approach, with no adverse impact on contralateral testis development or hormonal markers compared to orchiectomy.
