Premalignant/malignant histology in excised choledochal cyst specimens from children. Experience and literature review

This study reviews premalignant and malignant histopathology in pediatric choledochal cysts, identifying the youngest reported cases of adenocarcinoma in situ (3 years) and dysplasia (4 months). Findings emphasize that malignant transformation can occur in very young patients, necessitating complete cyst excision and rigorous long-term surveillance.
