The evidence mismatch in pediatric surgical practice

This rapid review examines evidence for managing four common outpatient pediatric surgical conditions and reveals significant gaps between published research and clinical practice. Analysis of 49 studies across 34,172 patients shows sparse evidence (less than one cohort study per condition per year) with 33-75% mismatch between recommendations and actual practice patterns.
