Erudition from primary posterior sagittal anorectoplasty for anorectal malformations over two decades

This 15-year retrospective study of 156 patients demonstrates that primary posterior sagittal anorectoplasty (P-PSARP) is a feasible single-stage repair for anorectal malformations when proper case selection and perioperative care are applied. The majority (84%) achieved voluntary bowel movements with acceptable rates of constipation and soiling managed through diet modification and bowel programs.
