Medium and long-term outcomes of gastroschisis

This review examines medium and long-term outcomes in gastroschisis patients beyond initial survival, highlighting gastrointestinal complications and emerging evidence of neurodevelopmental, cognitive, and auditory sequelae. Complex cases with bowel atresia or necrosis carry higher morbidity, necessitating structured multidisciplinary follow-up protocols.
