Evolution of left-sided thoracoscopic approach for long gap esophageal atresia repair

This retrospective study describes a left-sided thoracoscopic approach for long gap esophageal atresia repair using the Foker traction process in 28 patients. The technique achieved successful anastomosis without esophageal replacement, with 82% undergoing left-sided repair due to anatomical advantages including reduced tracheal compression and leftward pouch bias.
