Clinical application of enhanced recovery after surgery concept in laparoscopic treatment of pediatric acute appendicitis

Comparative study of 116 pediatric patients demonstrates that enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols significantly improve outcomes in laparoscopic appendectomy, reducing inflammatory markers, nausea/vomiting, and hospitalization costs while accelerating recovery. ERAS patients showed lower CRP and WBC counts at 3 days post-op with comparable pain scores and complication rates to standard care.
