Dual versus Triple Antibiotics Regimen in Children with Perforated Acute Appendicitis

Retrospective study comparing dual antibiotic therapy (ceftriaxone-metronidazole) versus traditional triple therapy (ampicillin-gentamicin-metronidazole) in 175 children with perforated appendicitis. Both regimens showed similar outcomes in length of stay and readmissions, though dual therapy trended toward higher wound infections.
