Parental perceptions and experiences of care in the surgical neonatal intensive care unit

Qualitative study exploring parental experiences during surgical NICU admissions identifies four key themes: parental emotional/physical state, altered caregiving role, care team dynamics, and discharge preparation. Findings suggest neonatal ERAS protocols align with parent-identified stressors and may enhance family-centered care for surgical neonates.
