Ultrasonographic features associated with previous torsion and the impact of surgery in managing neonatal ovarian cysts: a 20-year single-centre retrospective study

This 20-year retrospective study identifies fluid-debris level on ultrasound as a key marker of previous ovarian torsion in neonatal ovarian cysts, with complex cysts showing significantly higher ovarian loss rates (64%) compared to simple cysts (5%). The finding of viable ovarian tissue in 40% of ovarian-sparing procedures supports conservative surgical approaches when feasible.
