How does the number of training years in pediatric surgery affect appendectomy outcomes?

This retrospective study of 1,274 pediatric appendectomies demonstrates that junior trainees can safely perform the procedure from their first year of training. While operative time decreased and laparoscopic technique adoption increased with training year, postoperative complication rates remained consistent across all experience levels.
