Appendectomy as part of Ladd’s procedure: a systematic review and survey analysis

This systematic review and surgeon survey examines whether appendectomy should remain part of Ladd's procedure for intestinal malrotation. Despite limited evidence supporting the practice, 88% of surveyed pediatric surgeons continue to remove the appendix to prevent future diagnostic confusion from its altered left-sided position.
