Spinal cord anomalies in children with anorectal malformations: a retrospective cohort study

This retrospective study of 254 ARM patients found spinal cord anomalies in 22% of cases across all malformation types, with tethered cord identified in 8%. The findings support universal spinal imaging screening for all ARM patients regardless of complexity, as neurosurgical intervention was required in select cases.
