Comparison of early surgical and conservative therapy in children with ureteropelvic junction obstruction

This retrospective study of 78 children with severe ureteropelvic junction obstruction found that conservative observation achieved similar outcomes to early surgical intervention over a 10-year period. Both groups showed comparable improvement in hydronephrosis and renal function, though surgically treated patients experienced higher UTI recurrence rates.
