Management of pediatric blunt abdominal trauma with split liver or spleen injuries: a retrospective study
Topic overview
This retrospective study of 246 pediatric blunt abdominal trauma patients demonstrates that contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) is a valuable diagnostic tool for evaluating split liver and spleen injuries in hemodynamically stable children. CEUS detected 57.7% of splenic and 27.2% of hepatic injuries, supporting its role in initial assessment and follow-up of conservatively managed cases.
