Prenatal diagnosis at different gestational times and clinical features of choledochal cysts: a single tertiary center report

Published: Reading: 1 min

Topic overview

This retrospective study of 218 prenatally diagnosed choledochal cyst cases found that earlier prenatal detection (≤27 weeks gestation) correlates with larger cyst size at surgery and higher rates of neonatal jaundice and liver dysfunction. Findings suggest timing of prenatal diagnosis may predict disease severity and clinical presentation in affected infants.
