Laparoscopic percutaneous closure of patent processus vaginalis without hydrocelectomy for childhood primary hydrocele

This prospective study of 553 children demonstrates that laparoscopic closure of patent processus vaginalis alone, without removing the hydrocele sac, effectively treats primary hydrocele with minimal complications (0.36% recurrence) and excellent cosmetic outcomes. The SILPEC technique offers a minimally invasive alternative to traditional hydrocelectomy.
