Intraoperative OK-432 pleurodesis for preventing recurrence of primary spontaneous pneumothorax in children and adolescents: a single-center experience

This retrospective study of 48 pediatric patients demonstrates that intraoperative OK-432 pleurodesis combined with VATS bullectomy reduces recurrence of primary spontaneous pneumothorax from 28.6% to 5%, though with longer operative time and increased postoperative fever. The technique shows promise as a safe adjunct for preventing recurrence in children and adolescents with persistent air leakage.
