Colon patch esophagoplasty for esophageal strictures refractory to multi-modal treatment revisited

This study describes colon patch esophagoplasty as an alternative to total esophageal replacement for children with refractory esophageal strictures following caustic ingestion. Three pediatric patients achieved excellent functional outcomes with minimal post-operative dilations, suggesting CPE preserves native esophagus while restoring normal swallowing.
