The management of children aged 0–5 years wıth suspected foreign body aspiration: a prospective study

Prospective study of 89 children aged 0-5 years establishes clinical algorithm for bronchoscopy in suspected foreign body aspiration. Key diagnostic indicators include witnessed aspiration event, absent unilateral breath sounds, and unilateral hyperventilation on chest X-ray, with organic foodstuffs being the most common aspirated material in the 1-2 year age group.
