Postoperative anastomotic stricture following excision of choledochal cyst: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Systematic review of 206 pediatric patients identifies Todani type IV-A choledochal cysts as having significantly higher risk (10.1% vs 2.0%) of postoperative anastomotic stricture compared to type I. Surgical approach (laparoscopic vs open) and reconstruction type (hepaticojejunostomy vs hepaticoduodenostomy) showed no significant difference in stricture rates.
