The cutback revisited - The posterior rectal advancement anoplasty for certain anorectal malformations with rectoperineal fistula

This study reports early outcomes of posterior rectal advancement anoplasty (PRAA) in 12 female infants with rectoperineal fistulas, demonstrating zero major complications and rapid recovery without need for colostomy. The technique preserves the anal sphincter complex while eliminating risks of vaginal or urethral injury associated with traditional anterior dissection approaches.
