Can Freehand Elastosonography Be an Alternative to Renal Scintigraphy in Pediatric Vesicoureteral Reflux Cases?

Study evaluating freehand elastosonography as alternative to DMSA scan for detecting renal scars in 25 pediatric VUR patients found no significant difference in tissue strain values between scarred and non-scarred renal units, suggesting elastosonography cannot replace scintigraphy for this indication.
