Preoperative spinal angiography decreases risk of spinal ischemia in pediatric posterior thoracic tumor resection

Routine preoperative spinal angiography before pediatric posterior thoracic tumor resection identifies high-risk vascular anatomy and prevents postoperative paraplegia. Since implementing PSA protocol after one paraplegia case, no spinal ischemia events occurred in 14 patients, with imaging guiding surgical approach modifications in 6 cases.
