COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown: what has changed in common home accidents such as foreign bodies and corrosive injuries?

Retrospective study of 982 pediatric home accident cases (foreign body ingestion/aspiration, corrosive injuries) comparing pre-pandemic vs. pandemic periods reveals increased respiratory foreign bodies and shift in accident timing patterns during lockdown, with girls experiencing higher rates of corrosive injuries and late-night accidents in the 6-18 age group.
