Acid suppression duration does not alter anastomotic stricture rates after esophageal atresia with distal tracheoesophageal fistula repair: A prospective multi-institutional cohort study

Multi-institutional prospective study of 156 infants finds that postoperative acid suppression duration does not reduce anastomotic stricture rates after EA/TEF repair, with 51% developing strictures mostly within 3 months. Transanastomotic tube use significantly increased stricture risk at discharge and 3 months postoperatively.
