Circulating Tumor DNA as a Biomarker in Patients With Stage III and IV Wilms Tumor: Analysis From a Children's Oncology Group Trial, AREN0533

Study of 50 children with advanced Wilms tumor demonstrates that circulating tumor DNA can be detected in serum (82%) and urine (26%), with strong agreement to tumor tissue findings for key genetic markers. Patients without detectable ctDNA showed trend toward better outcomes, suggesting potential for noninvasive risk stratification and monitoring in pediatric kidney cancer.
