Patients with gastric volvulus recurrence have high incidence of wandering spleen requiring laparoscopic gastropexy and splenopexy

Retrospective study of 8 pediatric gastric volvulus cases requiring surgery found all had congenital spleen abnormalities, with 6/8 having wandering spleen. Combined laparoscopic gastropexy and splenopexy proved effective with minimal complications, demonstrating the importance of addressing both gastric and splenic pathology in recurrent cases.
