Maintaining a minimally invasive surgical service during a pandemic

Retrospective study demonstrates that minimally invasive surgery can be performed safely during COVID-19 pandemic with appropriate protective measures. MIS showed lower complication rates and shorter hospital stays compared to open surgery, with no surgeon infections despite 52% of procedures using MIS techniques during 2020 lockdown.
