Gastrojejunal (GJ) tube feeding: developing a service and evaluating associated complications in a paediatric surgical centre

Retrospective study of 134 GJ tube placements in 33 neurologically impaired children over 3.5 years, demonstrating GJ feeding as safe and effective for foregut dysmotility with 34% complication rate and median tube longevity of 175 days. Many patients eventually transitioned to oral or gastric feeding, highlighting the reversibility advantage of this approach.
