Improvement of bladder function after bladder augmentation surgery: a report of 26 years of clinical experience

Long-term retrospective study of 178 spina bifida patients demonstrates that bladder augmentation surgery significantly improves bladder function, with modified Hostility scores decreasing from 4.3 to 1.6 at 5-10 year follow-up. High thoracic spinal lesion level identified as key risk factor for requiring surgical intervention.
